MG Hyaku Shiki Pre-Paint Build Part 1

Hi there! Welcome back!
Today I worked on the Hyaku Shiki

To many, including myself, undergates are a treat

But there are few tutorials on Google (I checked) that actually teach you how to properly remove these parts

I will show you how I remove mine

First remove the part from the gate,
making sure you leave about 2 mm of gate

Then cut the undergate from the back~

Simple as that. Do it right, your parts will look as if they came without runners.

Although 90% of the plated parts are undergated, there is one particular runner, i think its the G runner with no undergate

Thats how your parts wouldve would've looked if Bandai hadn't undergated them...

Due to time constraints, I could only finish the Type 100s arms and feet

And they're all ready to paint!

That's all folks! Till tomorrow.

The new plan (Life After O's 3)

I have planned (or am in the process of planning) my schedule for the next 4 months. Intense study! Of course I didn't forget that there is still a week of holiday left. I'm going to do something that hopefully will make you guys proud~ I'm going to out-of-box build all my entire backlog (Starting with the MG Hyaku Shiki because I know you guys like bling) However, painting (the WIP for the HG unicorn) will have to wait, I cannot afford to screw up my brain any further with the toxic laquer fumes. It's going to be a short (hopefully) 4 months, and hopefully all goes well.

Let's drift off topic for a second... To Life After O's

As the holiday's draw closer to the end, I find myself drifting further and further away from my friends. I'm not sure if they feel the same..

Putting Gunpla on hold once again..

Time is my enemy. I need more time. I wish I can stay and do what I want to do. But I have to do what I need to do. I know where my priorities lie, today is the end. The end of my time. I will not be painting for the next 4-5 months, and hopefully will not be distracted from my studies. This year is an important year. And so is the next. And so is every other. Today might be the end, the end of all my immaturity, but someday it'll find it's way back. This blog has been everything to me, I hope all of you who follow (or even read) this blog remember to return. And when you do I'll promise you the best Gunpla you'll ever lay eyes on. Comment and ask me about life, I'll be be delighted to share.

HGUC RX-0 Unicorn Destroy Mode Painted Build WIP 3

DECALS ARE A PAIN IN THE NECK FOR THIS KIT. It's getting increasingly difficult to place the decals on the unicorn ( They're getting smaller and smaller ) Also, I realised I misplaced two decals on the backpack of mine :/

Today was a weird day..I faced little to no problem at all today whilst painting, but was heavily impeded due to my sickly body (im a weak guy) I sneezed and cough throughout the paint session, and spilled thinner all over my face (Not exaggerating here) I think I breathed in alot of that lacquer thinner too (Lacquer is reputed to be uber toxic) And I got a bit of a headache right now.. But I feel glad I managed to accomplish what I did today

Here are le pics

Because I was fixing the tone of a few parts on the blue backpack, I decided to use the remaining paint on the unicorns feet, because thats the only other thing thats blue on this kit.

Here's my favorite part of the entire WIP so far.

You can actually see the nice post-shading there 😃😄

Until next time guys 🙋

HGUC RX-0 Unicorn Destroy Mode Painted Build WIP 2

I've had some time to paint yesterday, although I planned to do more, this was all I could handle.

The decal placement was the most challenging
so far, IF YOU DON'T HAVE AN MG UNICORN VER KA, the decal guides are IMPOSSIBLE to find! Even if you do, it's going to have a shitty resolution. I'm going to do you all a HUGE favor after the unicorn is complete, I'll take pictures from ALL angles of the unicorn for you guys to use (:

If you look really closely, I tried to do a little shading on the backpack. It didn't go so well, mostly because I overdid the light coat..

Blog update: 14th June 2014

Hello mates,
It's been an 'eventful' holiday so far. I haven't done jack homework. And half the holiday's already gone for me.. However, I have been trying to sort out some gunpla related issues, like the Diorama I planned to make this June. The conclusion: POSTPONE IT. I haven't got the time and resources to fund and complete a diorama this holiday, and even if I did, time is running out. I don't want a rushed piece of crap.

Zaku machine gun and Bazooka ready for priming.

Unicorn waist ready for painting and decaling. (Also sneak peak of Zaku manipulators)

Okay so I had time to visit a hobby shop on the way home from school yesterday. DAMN THAT SHOP WAS COOL. Haw (Hobby Art @ Work) is located near macpherson exit b and honestly, it took me abit to locate the store, because it's in an industrialised area called lion building and I had to tail a guy who was walking in to find it.

I bought Marz Dark Blue for the unicorns feet and backpack, and green for its eyes and forehead camera.

I forgot to mention I picked this Zaku up a few weeks back. It's what I plan to make a diorama for.

Stay tuned? I hope ya do, and please comment if you do. I want to know if someones been keeping track (that'll be great)

HGUC RX-0 Unicorn Destroy Mode Painted Build WIP 1

I bought myself an airbrush and compressor set yesterday, although I really wanted to get it last week. Truthfully, I had absolutely no time to buy it until yesterday, with school in "full swing" and tuitions at illogical hours of the night.

The hobbymate compressor ( I have no idea how it works, and all I know is that you switch it on, set a pressure and spray away )
The airbrush, a dual action airbrush, is pretty neat. I hate having to clean it while swapping colors though, and since I forgot to buy a cleaning pot, its kinda hazardous to clean it too often (I dont have a mask, or a place with ventilation to airbrush, for that matter)

The paints I bought, Lacquer (I heard this stuffs toxic) Gaianotes Pure white, Pure black, Gray 1 and Gray 4, with sunshine yellow for the v-fins. I'll extend my arsenal of paints when I feel rich again (This burnt a 400 dollar hole in my wallet)

Last but not least, the Unicorn.
As soon as I got home I started on the repainting of the HGUC Unicorn.

It was my first kit I worked on last year, secretly kept away from this blog because I was still learning how to use the nippers.

So, I made it a point to paint it as best I can~
even as a rookie airbrush painter.

I forgot to preshande the torso, oh well. Guess its another monotonous standard paint job..

Did I mention the decals? They don't come with guides (And they're impossible to find on the internet) So I had to work with my gut and a lil searching on some shitty images on Google. And thats what I made out, for now.

I have a week of "programmes" ahead of me next week, so I'll have to leave the unicorn like that for the time being.

So long 👋

Gone for a while (Life After O's 2)

As you can tell, i've only had time to update the "Life After O's" post

I have a lot to catch up with ESPECIALLY with Project work in (half) full swing. Group work is tacky and rough on me, a person who doesn't like to socialize. I haven't even had time to buy that compressor i talked about. But I will, i promise (myself). Whoever reads this, comment, tell me how your life is going, how much gunpla plays a part in your life. Just tell me, that you exist.
Welcome to Gunpla- Population: Me
